I bought Jess in 2014, she was in very good condition and required very little work done on her, but it will come as no surprise to many other yacht owners, that I ended up adding and spending much more than planned.
Jess is a Moody 31 mk2 masthead sloop and was built around 30 years ago. She has excellent accommodation including a good-sized aft double cabin. The accommodation consists of a two-berth vee/double fore cabin, with two more settee berths in the saloon. To port is the chart table and the entrance to the heads compartment, and to starboard is the galley and the door to the aft cabin. So in theory she can sleep 6, but in realty she is comfortable with 3 or 4. I’ve added warm air heating and she has a pressurised water system with hot and cold water.
Jess is berthed in Largs Yacht Haven, not the cheapest of marinas but there’s great access to The Clyde and the Western Isles via The Mull of Kintyre or the Crinan Canal and Northern Ireland.
Jess is named after my mother.
